Blessed with opportunities to pursue more than one vocation, I share the many fruits of but two with you, here.
The first vocation has been drawing and painting. See a gallery tour of my own paintings, many inspired by the beautiful mid-coast region of Maine and, more recently, the incomparable sights of Norway.
The second vocation is reflected in essays bound together, more or less directly, by the theme of Francis Bacon’s famous 17th century promise that science could expand “the bounds of human empire, to the effecting of all things possible.” (Francis Bacon, “New Atlantis,” 1626).
